  Edgar (the Crow) Colludes with the *Russians*

  a couple of years ago, sitting at starbucks outside patio, i became "aware" of a feathered mafioso i eventually named edgar.so weird and varied have been our adventures, i began writing about them.this is only the latest installment in what i like to call: the edgar chronicles_______edgar colludes with the rooskiesi sit carefully selecting which words to use--there are pitfalls to my tale.2 chinese ladies are problematic for a writer who is an olde white male.what if i accidentally stereotype?

  i dare not!with your kind permission, i will change the sex and country of origin of my 2 characters to avoid going off the rails.instead, this story is transformed into 2 *russian* guys!

  Why is the finished mystery of 1917 so expensive compared to other JW books?

  i see these on ebay from time to time and they go fro 150 to 200 dollars.

  seems like a lot.

  other old jw books go for much less.

  The Watchtower organization was much smaller then, so the initial print run was small, also, that was long ago, and lots of dogs have eaten a lot of homework in that time, also, no doubt many copies were destroyed when the US gov't cracked down on the Watchtower for violating the Espionage Act.

  Today a heavily-revised version of the book is kept in print by people who think that Pastor Russell was the man with all the answers - never mind that NOTHING Russell predicted came to pass - unless you count INVISIBLY, in which case it ALL CAME TRUE.

  As pointed out, if you simply wanted to satisfy your curiosity, you can do so for free. If you are jealous of antiquarian booksellers making a killing, work on improving your character. Envy is ugly and you are better than that. (Yes, I don't know you from Adam, but envy is ugly on EVERYONE, and EVERYONE is better than that.)

  went to see MOM for MOTHERS day and jw dad showed up

  i surprised mom with flowers and cake ,candy etc.

  she was so happy, i told her i was going to work.

  and couldn't see her for mother's day, she said she was just staying home,as none of my non jw bro's or sisters were taking her out for dinner.

  Maybe you could bring your Dad a bunch of good, tastyJERKY for Father's Day and not explain the symbolic significance of the gift until a few days after he'd eaten it all. Not the real hot spicy habanero stuff - unless that is what he likes. In addition to Beef, there is Pork and even Fish, not to mention the exotic meats you can get from Cabella's or other expedition suppliers.

  I'm sure you get the joke, but don't tell him what it is until After he's eaten it all.

  I love the way speechless cowards are so quick to criticize JunkYardDog for his direct style of "counter-witnessing." Some of these same speechless cowards are great fans of the prevaricating phony who calls himself Cedars.

  I consider JunkYardDog a personal friend whose feet I am not worthy to wash. Maybe his method isn't always as polished as a used-car salesman's or a Circuit Servant, but his FACTS are incontrovertably CORRECT - ALL OF THE TIME. I think that is what the speechless ones hate the most - that my friend JunkYardDog knows what he is talking about, while the speechless ones only know how they FEEL.

  Even elders don’t know their beliefs

  i had a deep conversation with my elder father today about the bible.

  first i talked to him about luke 16:19-31. the one where jesus makes this crazy illustration regarding the afterlife.

  of course he had to look it up on the watchtower library to be spoon fed his beliefs.

  I'm reminded of the comment made by WTB&TS President Nathan Knorr, who said that all he was sure about was that Jehovah was God; 1914 and all the other stuff... well he wasn't sure.

  It is GOOD that Knorr lived to see the grand hallucinations of Freddy Franz fail. It is a shame that so many were disfellowshipped for voicing their doubts before Knorr decided to voice his doubts.

  Minimus, you scared me! I thought something had happened to Blondie - I'm glad that she's OK but just cutting back.

  I remember so many from back when I first came aboard here - get the pun?

  Yes, I have wondered about Mulan, and I wish it was possible to hear from VeniceIT, BBoyNeko, and so many others. I sincerely hope they are happy and doing well.

  I miss those from whom we will never hear again: Mouthy, Farkel, and others.

  Most of all, I miss myself. Memory is starting to go... who was I?

  Anyone interested in Fredrik Homer Robison may want to read “Color And Character: A Contemplation Of The Four Divine Qualities” published on LULU.com. It is a compilation of articles Robison wrote for The Golden Age in 1920 and 1921 and includes a biography of the man. It seems Robison had synesthesia and did not realize that most people did not perceive the world quite the same way he did.
